Research Computing • Scientific Software • HPC Engineering
I try to help researchers do impossible things with computers!
My specialty is high-performance environments where reproducibility, maintainability,
and long-term trust really matter.
When I'm not cooking up something new or spoiling my cat, Ava, you'll see me tinkering in various git repos.

Durable infrastructure + practical tools
University of Iowa
I work as a Research Computing Specialist at the University of Iowa, supporting researchers with scientific software,
high-performance computing (HPC) workflows, and the operational realities of running research-grade systems at scale.
A lot of this work is about reliability: helping tools behave predictably on shared infrastructure, keeping installations
maintainable over time, and making it easier for research groups to move faster without breaking reproducibility.
If you have questions about how technology can help enable your research in new and creative ways, feel free to reach out
to me at [email protected].
I'm happy to discuss even the craziest ideas, and find ways to help you utilize our high end supercomputing services (Argon)
and our centralized data storage facilities (LSS/RDSS) to best support your goals.
Independent work
I also run
Quantum Dynamics Ventures (QDV)
,
a small independent research studio exploring ambitious, high-leverage ideas across a wide range of domains —
from long-horizon experiments to practical tools and scientific infrastructure.
QDV supports exploratory research, open tools, and long-term bets on high-risk/high-reward work that doesn’t always fit
neatly within institutional timelines — pursued with rigor, care, and a focus on real outcomes: what life reveals.
